Our water-based coating solutions offer improved durability and functionality to paper products at the factory. Unlike most factory-applied treatments, DetraPel is water-based, does not require a special vapor process, or ventilation systems.  This makes DetraPel a low-cost, low-liability addition to your existing manufacturing process.

PROVEN PERFORMANCE

DetraPel’s OLEO-PAK 4100 coating has excellent oil and grease repellency (OGR). Repellency tests can measure resistance of paper to soaking in by oil or grease. ASTM testing protocols measure the angle of contact and rolloff resistance to a single oil droplet. DetraPel exceeds industry standard levels on many paperboard products, making it one of the only oleophobic coatings that does not contain fluorochemicals.

PAPER FINISHES INSPIRED BY NATURE

The revolutionary nanotechnology behind DetraPel is based on biomimicry. This refers to the water repellency exhibited by superhydrophobic elements in nature. Lotus leaves, teak and other natural elements have waxy microstructures that repel water droplets and don’t allow them to settle onto their surface, causing them to bead up and roll right off.
